Reception Hall Tips
Things to keep in mind:
Distance - Do people have to travel from the church/temple/mosque to the reception hall, if so make sure it is not too far away. Consider where the bride lives, where the groom lives and where most of the guests live.
Size - People like having space when they eat and dance. Even though a reception hall may claim it holds 300 people, it may only hold 250 comfortably.
Climate Control - How is the temperature controlled in the hall. If it is winter will it be warm enough in the hall? If it is summer will it be air conditioned?
Shared Banquets Halls - If there are multiple halls in the venue then you may want to stop by when events are taking place and determine if the noise from the other events will be heard in your hall. You don't want your parents speech competing with thumping bass from the next hall.
Bathrooms - How many bathrooms are in the hall and where are they located in proximity to your guests. If it is a shared hall, does every hall have their own facilities?
Hours - What time does the party have to shut down? What are the costs if the party extends past those hours?
Parking - How much parking is available? Make sure it is ample for the amount of guests attending.
